Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts, copy formats and the settings that change what a key does.

Keys

KeysAction
Ctrl/Cmd + Vimport a palette from the clipboard (outside text fields)
Ctrl/Cmd + Zundo
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Zredo
Delete / Backspacedelete the selected palette or colour
Esccancel inline renaming of a palette

Ctrl/Cmd + V works anywhere in the window except inside text fields — there it pastes text as usual. Outside them it opens the import dialog prefilled with the clipboard contents; see Import formats.

What undo covers

History is kept per command. These are undone and redone:

  • adding, renaming, duplicating and deleting a palette;
  • adding, editing (hex / rgb / alpha / name) and deleting a colour;
  • renaming a project;
  • a palette import, as a whole;
  • a generator rebuild, as a whole.

Opening another project and creating a new one clear the history — you cannot undo across a project switch.

Copying a colour

The copy button next to a colour puts the value on the clipboard in the format from the settings:

  • hex — #RRGGBB (or #RRGGBBAA when alpha ≠ 1);
  • rgb / rgba — rgb(r, g, b) / rgba(r, g, b, a);
  • hsl / hsla — hsl(h, s%, l%) / hsla(h, s%, l%, a).

Settings

  • Theme — light / dark / system.
  • Copy format — hex / rgb / hsl.
  • Accept hex without # on import — enables recognition of 6- and 8-digit hex with no hash.

Saving

There is no Save button: every change to a project is written to disk automatically, shortly after the last action. Projects are plain *.palette.json files wherever you created or opened them; the workspace list, the theme and the rest live in the application data directory under the identifier dev.n0sfer.pallete and survive a reinstall.
